Still Rolling After 100 Years
Bob-E-Lanes Still, formerly Bob-E-Lanes, continues a long-standing presence in the Crisol Corridor under new local ownership. Founded in 1923, the bowling alley is believed to be one of the oldest in Wisconsin and has been part of Milwaukee’s South Side for more than a century.
New owners John and Sheryl Ernst, longtime bowlers themselves, are guiding the business into its next chapter with a focus on preserving its history while strengthening its role as a neighborhood gathering place. Under the leadership of General Manager Justin Lockridge, the business is emphasizing accessibility and community, including the return of open bowling every day. This shift creates a space where neighbors can stop in, grab a lane, and enjoy a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
At the same time, Bob-E-Lanes Still continues to deliver top-tier quality. The lanes remain USBC Gold Level Certified, and former owner Jim Rydzewski is assisting with the transition to help ensure longtime customers still feel right at home.
Looking ahead, the team is eager to build partnerships with nearby businesses and deepen its connection to the Crisol Corridor. Plans include expanding hours and offerings, collaborating with local youth organizations, and welcoming opportunities to host community groups, fundraisers, and neighborhood events.
After more than 100 years, Bob-E-Lanes is still here—and still rolling forward with the community.
