About Our BID

The Crisol Corridor began in 2015 and is known as the melting pot.  We are also known as Business Improvement District #50.

Our City of Milwaukee’s Business Improvement District runs north-south along S. 13th Street from Cleveland to Morgan Avenues, and east-west on W. Oklahoma Ave from S. 15th to Chase Ave.  BID #50 (The Crisol Corridor) was formed by local businesses in order to fund and organize projects that improve the economic vitality of this area.

The business district is one of the most unique in all of metro Milwaukee.  Small businesses neighbor international franchises and a diversity of cultures is reflected in the many restaurants and other business establishments.   The Crisol Corridor is home to 4 supermarkets, 2 shoe cobblers, a musical instrument store, a vegetarian restaurant, a tortilla factory, and an apothecary.

The first year of operation for BID #50 was in 2015, and The Gateway to Milwaukee is excited to see the progress that these local business owners can achieve.  Three primary goals will guide the activities of the BID going forward:

  1. Enhance the image of the business district with beautification.
  2. Improve the security and perception of safety in the business district.
  3. Market the area for commercial growth.

If you are a business or property owner in this area and would like to get involved with the Crisol Corridor – S. 13th St – W. Oklahoma Ave BID #50, please let us know.
